YR Mangled Head.

I'm going to the United Bicycle Institute in Ashland, Oregon!
Holy shit!
I am so excited about this!
I'm attending the July 6th - 10th class!
It will be hot as Hades down there, but that'll make for good ridin' weather.
Oh lord, am I excited!

Mini Eggs.

Had a good long ride today...
From my house to school and back.
Then down to the Old Mill for my paycheck, which was lousy...
Then over to my friend Beezy's and back home through the west side.

So I wasn't too excited about Sasquatch! this year...
But now that I've bought my tickets and camping pass and their announcing new people everyday, I'm getting pretty pumped.

The people I'm really excited to see:
Kings Of Leon, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Decemberists, Animal Collective, DeVotchKa, M. Ward, Ra Ra Riot, Passion Pit, Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band, Crystal Castles, Jane's Addiction, Nine Inch Nails, TV On The Radio, Murder City Devils, of Montreal, The Avett Brothers, Calexico, m83, St. Vincent, The Dodos, The Builders And The Butchers, Fences, Natalie Portman's Shaved Head, Fleet Foxes, Gogol Bordello, Santigold, Grizzly Bear, Explosions In The Sky, Girl Talk, The Knux, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Tobacco, Chromeo, Demetri Martin, and BLK JKS.

Shit's stacked...

Why So Serious?

Yesterday I took my 9-2-5 out for a spin.
First time since Seattle actually...
I rode to class, and when I left it was a beautiful day.
Durning class however, it started to rain, rain, rain.
Coldest, wettest ride of my life.
Luckily I had the rain shell I found at Sasquatch! last year.

9-2-5:

Speaking of Sasquatch!, the lineup is pretty good this year!
Should be a bitchin' time.

PDX.

Long, long, long weekend.
Went to Portland to see Andrew Bird for my birthday!
I got a ticket for my birthday from my good friend Rosi.
Slept two nights on a (concrete) dorm room floor.
Totally worth the hassle.

The first night, too drunk to fuck...

It's A Formal Affair!

Seattle was amazing!
I saw almost everyone I wanted to see.
Got coffee, had lunch, walked.

One of my first stops was Ballard's Sonic Boom Records!
I hit up the free bin and got four free 7" records! And three of the bands I knew...
My main squeeze for this trip was my Nishiki fix, so I passed on spending any lettuce on wax...
The boys at Recycled really helped me out (my dad especially)!
All that's left is to buy is a wheel set (or have them built) and get the saddle I've had my eyes on since the beginning of this project.

So tomorrow, I have school!
This is garbage!
It's a national holiday for fuck's sake!
There's no USPS, no banks, no libraries, nothing.
But COCC thinks it's fair to work their faculty and make their students attend class.
Rad to death...

Above The Influence.

It has been one month to the day since my last cigarette!
I am really proud of myself for this and I feel a lot healthier for it!
It feels really good to be in Seattle to celebrate this!
I was a heavy smoker for a year and a month... I am so glad to be done with it.

The Fixin's.

Just took my Nishiki into Bend's WebCyclery to get chased and faced today!
And tomorrow I'm heading up to Seattle to my dad's shop Recycled Cycles for some more work on the Nishiki.
Regarding my new fix, he (or she) needs a name.
The frame is a minty/pastel green color. Any ideas?

In other news,
indoor soccer was interesting today (I take this as a class at COCC)...
First, I got a shot to the nuts in the first half and needed to be subbed out, and I never sub out...
Then I landed a goal and had two clean assists.
The last little bit to this story is I got taken out by one of my own strikers that didn't want to pass me the ball for a goal, just so he could take the shot...
We won 7-2.

Bend Art Walk 2009.

My good friend Brittany Zendejas, "Beezy," was featured in the Bend Art Walk this year!
This is her first solo show and it was at the King Of Sole downtown!
For this show she did a lot of stenciling.
Being one of her friends, she asked if she could do a piece with me on it.
Naturally I said yes! And let her take a picture and sketch it out.
It turned out phenomenal!
She was selling it for $40 when I left the show.

Off And Off.

Some insane stuntin'!
And all to the beats of Hot Chip.

Life On The Outside Ain't What It Used To Be...

Working on my first conversion!
A mid 1970's Nishiki.
Right now, all I have done with it is the powder coating,
it's a "pastel" green color. Should be stunning in the sun light.
I am so excited about this.

Right now I'm riding around on my RedLine 9-2-5.
Single speed built up by my dad and the boys at Recycled Cycles.
It's brilliant for my daily ride to school and into town.
The summer months are coming, shit yes.
